The Gulder 5 Aside zonal elimination contest ended on Monday, at the Ibrahim Babangida Square in Makurdi, Benue State capital with Raymond King FC of Makurdi and City Rollers FC of Abuja knocking out other teams to qualified from the zone to make it to the finals in Lagos.

The first semifinal clash between Raymond King FC of Makurdi and City Lions FC of Abuja ended with 2-1 in favour of Raymond King to set up a final clash with City Rollers FC of Abuja who had earlier defeated Tijara FC of Jos also by 2-1

The two final teams lined up before the commencement of final match at Kwara Football Academy Ilorin on Thursday.

The Gulder 5-A-side Football zonal elimination series that started Tuesday July19 in Ilorin came to an end on Thursday July 21 with Gunners FC and KFA FC emerged as the winners and runners up. The two teams will represent the zone in Lagos for the knock out stage scheduled to hold on September 15, 2011.

The Gunners FC had earlier defeated All Stars of Ilorin by 2-0 in the first semi-final while KFA FC, in a tension soaked match, beat Okoto FC by 3-1 in the second semi-final.

Speaking at the screening centre in Ilorin, the Administrator of Kwara Football Academy (KFA), Mr. Kunbi Titiloye, while watching the over 52 club sides representing the North Central at the main pitch of The Kwara Football Academy, inside the Ilorin Township Stadium, commended Nigerian Breweries Plc and the Gulder brand for their innovation in developing the game of football and providing opportunity for discovering raw football talents in Nigeria.

HP Unveils Cloud Computing At Annual Customers Forum In Dakar

Hewlett Packard West Africa, Intel and Microsoft recently gathered a crop of it’s A to C – level customers, partners and retailers for a-three day customers forum in far away Dakar, Senegal.

The Forum, themed: Technology Live, is an annual event that is organised purposely for market integration, knowledge gathering, new product demonstration and for stakeholders networking.

This year’s edition, 7th in the series, was held at the Radison Blu Hotel in Dakar, Senegal a fortnight ago. It was attended by about 120 participants made up of clients from the corporate and government establishments in Nigeria. Others in attendance were C-level customers, partners, wholesalers and retailers from its Nigerian and Ghana markets.

Gulder 5-A-side Football: Regional Matches Begins in Ilorin

As registration for participation in this year edition of the Gulder Ultimate 5-A-side Football competition ended, real actions in the fame and fortune opportunity giving soccer tournament will kick off as from Tuesday, July 19 to Thursday July 21, in Ilorin, Kwara state.

All the regional football matches, where two teams must emerge from each of the regions, will be played between July 19 and August 22 across seven states this year. For this purpose, the nation has been delineated into seven regions.  Starting with the Northern region where the city of Ilorin and Markurdi, which replaced Kaduna and Abuja as earlier announced, will host participants from the region.
